The Hampton County Animal Shelter is a county run facility that takes in stray or abused animals. Animals brought to us may be placed into our adoption program, sent to a rescue group, or unfortunately, as a last resort, euthanized.

Animals brought to us may be placed into our adoption program, sent to a rescue group or foster home, or unfortunately, as a last resort, euthanized. This would include such animals not suitable for adoption, due to health concerns, deemed a danger to society, or shelter overcrowding. Such decision is a difficult one made by the director and other individuals caring for the animal.
We continue to strive to create a loving environment for all animals in Hampton County but community support is imperative.
